How it works

Using a variable-speed compressor, the Zodiac ZS500 MD8 is the first heat pump to offer three operating modes. Get the temperature you want for your pool water, when you want it. Pressing EcoSilence Mode mode uses 50% of the energy available within the system, press SmartMode for between 50% and 100% and press BoostMode to run at 100%.

The main difference between these modes is noise, cost and performance. While you will likely operate on Smart Mode by default, there are times when you will need to switch it up. At night time, you will want EcoSilence, for example. Perhaps you are switching the system on for the first time in a while and want to you use it quickly, choose BoostMode. The champion is, of course, SmartMode, which finds the best compromise between energy savings, silence and water temperature increase rate.

Where more conventional heaters need five metres clearance, Zodiac’s vertical blower unit makes for discreet installation. It can be concealed behind trees without causing a drop in performance.
